How My Faith Influences My Creative Writing

For me, writing is also a spiritual act. My faith in God shapes every word I put on paper, because I see life through the sensitivity of the Holy Spirit. I believe that the creativity that flows from me does not come only from my mind or my experiences, but from a gift that the Lord gave me to express profound truths in a sensitive and beautiful way.

The world often values the grand, the spectacular, what dazzles the eyes. But the Bible teaches us that God also reveals Himself in the small, the simple, and the everyday. Throughout His ministry, Jesus spoke of the Kingdom of God through parables that referred to people's everyday routines: the sower who sows the seeds (Matthew 13:3-9), the woman who sweeps the house looking for a lost coin (Luke 15:8-10), the shepherd who searches for the lost sheep (Luke 15:4-7).

I also perceive God’s presence in simple moments: in the morning breeze, in the coffee shared with a friend, in casual conversations that suddenly touch the heart. These scenes, which could go unnoticed by many, are inspiration for my writing. Beauty is in the routine, and I know that this is where God acts. As Zechariah 4:10 says: “For who despises the day of humble beginnings?”

Writing about emotions is inevitable. Faith does not prevent me from feeling sadness, anguish or doubts. David himself, a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22), wrote psalms full of lamentation, such as Psalm 42: “Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why are you so distraught within me? Put your hope in God! For I will yet praise him; he is my Savior and my God” (Psalm 42:5).

My writing reflects this reality. I know that believing does not mean not suffering, but it does mean knowing that suffering is not the end. Tears have a purpose, struggle generates growth, and sadness can also be used to shape us.

When I write about femininity, family, friendship, and faith, I seek to bring a biblical perspective to each of these areas. I know that God deeply values women and their journey, from Eve to Mary, Ruth, Esther, and so many others. Each one has faced different challenges, but has been used for a greater purpose.

My writing also reflects my walk with God. I often talk about what it is like to follow faith without seeing the complete path. Abraham was called by God to leave his homeland and go to a place he had not yet visited (Genesis 12:1). He did not have a detailed map or all the answers, but he trusted.

This is life with God. I often write about this uncertain but purposeful journey. As Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

Writing helps me process this journey. It is through writing that I express the certainty of victory, even when the scenario seems contrary. My heart may waver, but my words always return to hope.

Another aspect of my faith that influences my writing is the insistence on never giving up. The Word teaches us that difficulties are just part of a larger process. In Romans 8:28, it is written: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

I don’t just write about good days. My words also speak of weariness, fear, and the temptation to give up. But in the end, there is always a reminder: God is in control. Even when we don’t understand, He has already seen the end of the story.

It is this faith that keeps me going, that makes me believe that each text has an impact, even if I never see the fruits with my own eyes.

The Christian life is not without struggles, and I want my writing to reflect this reality. Each challenge has a purpose, and even the most difficult moments can be instruments to teach and strengthen us. James 1:2-4 encourages us: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance."

In my writing, I seek to show that difficulties are not punishments, but opportunities for growth. Joseph, sold into slavery by his brothers, suffered unjustly, but in the end he recognized: "You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, so that many people might be spared today." (Genesis 50:20)

This is how I see life's battles: they shape our story and prepare us for something greater.

Although my writing is full of hope, it also carries a sincere portrait of human frailty. Even though I believe in God, there are moments of doubt, fear, and weakness. Peter himself, who walked on the water at Jesus' call, began to sink when he looked at the wind (Matthew 14:29-30).

I find myself in this situation so many times. I believe, but sometimes I fear. I trust, but sometimes I weaken. The important thing is to remember that Jesus always extends his hand, as he did with Peter, and pulls us up.

My writing also speaks about this internal struggle: the oscillation between faith and doubt, between courage and fear. And this is part of what it means to be human.

My faith is the essence of my writing. It teaches me to find beauty in the simple, to feel each moment intensely, to transform difficulties into learning and to never give up. It also reminds me that I am fragile, that my strength comes from God, and that everything is part of a greater plan.

If today I write with depth and emotion, it is because I see life through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. My words are not just mine – they are reflections of what God has placed in my heart. As it is written in Proverbs 16:3: "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." I am blessing the world with a tone from heaven, straight from the hand of my Father, God.
